Suppressed DNR Report On Climate Change In SC

The SC Department of Natural Resources finalized a report on the impact of climate change in the state on November 18, 2011. The report was not published.

In February 2013, The State and other newspapers around South Carolina reported on the existence of the climate change report. The Post and Courier published and article linking to the report on March 3. The P&C article was not consistently available online by March 27, 2013.

Although the SC Department of Natural Resources has promised to release the report at some point, we are offering the final unpublished leaked report here for the use and education of the public.

This is a 104 page document in PDF format.

Eugene Platt Nominated In Special Congressional Election

Eugene Platt

Eugene Platt Acceptance Speech

Meeting in convention in Mt. Pleasant yesterday, the South Carolina Green Party chose James Island Public Service District Commissioner Eugene Platt as its nominee for the South Carolina First Congressional District seat. Platt will face off against the winners of the Republican and Democratic primaries in the general election. This was the first contest with more than one candidate seeking the SCGP nomination for any office, and Platt is the only candidate of any third party who will be running in this general election. Platt is also the only Green currently holding an elective office in South Carolina.
